NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH

The problem with Pork products reported on RTE News relates to LARGE COMMERCIAL PIG FARMS down in the SOUTH of Ireland, who have purchased contaminated feeds from the same food mills.  This is isolated to nine farms in one area or Ireland and the Farms have not been named.

OUR PORK IS SAFE TO EAT - LOCALLY PRODUCED IN SMALL NUMBERS AND FED GRAINS SUCH AS ROLLED BARLEY, OATS AND VEGETABLES.

We rear our own PEDIGREE PIGS OUTDOORS - FREE RANGE AND FEED THE BEST LOCALLY PRODUCED FOOD.

PLEASE BE ASSURED THAT OUR PIGS AND OUR PORK IS SAFE TO EAT

Our Mission To encourage others to keep rare breeds to stop them going extinct, to supply quality Rare Breed Pork - Pork from Farm to Fork.  To offer other produce from other local small producers in our shop.  To educate young people on how important it is to know where your food comes from and what it contains.  To provide an outlet for local food and crafts, helping the local economy.

HISTORY: Tullywood Farm is the home to a number of Rare Breed animals, but especially to pigs.  Tamworth, British Saddleback and Gloucestershire Old Spots wander in the forest, foraging on brambles and breathing the pure fresh air of Kilronan Mountain.  Hens & Ducks wander around the farm, which is on a mountain surrounded by forests, overlooking Lough Meelagh.
Tullywood Farm is over 200 years old, locals talk of the old days  "people there "always had a pig to kill"  when times were hard.  Lots of people enjoyed evenings playing music, called "sessions" in the old farm house.  In 2001 Joseph and Julie Delaney, with their daughter Tara, purchased the farm and decided to rekindle the past.  They have  re-claimed the land, built roads and fence's restored the electricity supply and plan to re-build the stone walls of the house, we hope this year to replant the ancient orchard which was chopped down by a previous owner.
We have a Farm Shop offering Rare Breed & Traditional Meats, and we attend five local farmers markets, and  the Rossinver Organic Centre's Monthly Farmers Markets held on Sundays.  We opened our own Farm Shop which is open every Thursday with fresh produce from 10am to 4pm.  Julie makes preserves and home grown produce from her garden, her passion is growing herbs, drawing & painting animals and making Mosaics, especially tables  -  paintings, mosaics and other gifts are available in our Farm Shop.

Tullywood Farm - Saving Rare Breed - Outdoor reared Pigs  from Extinction
Registered Pedigree Rare Breed Pigs are for Sale.
Boar Service Available for Tamworth, British Saddleback and Gloucestershire Old Spot.
Gilts & Weaners for Sale
We only breed from the strongest bloodlines and/or prize winning stock.

The bloodlines of some of our sows are almost extinct so it is important that we breed from them and offer their piglets for sale to other breeders and smallholders.
This helps to stop extinction.

To make Rare Breed Pigs more viable, as well as selling to other breeders and smallholders we offer from our own Butchery on our own farm, from our own pigs, rare breed traditional pork and bacon, including ten varieties of 80% pork sausages, we also make pork and apple burgers and GLUTEN FREE sausages.

We offer you the safety of local food
Food with no air miles, additives, growth promoters or pesticides,
just outdoor reared free range meat from happy pigs
that have had a wonderful life.
Pigs are meant to be outdoors, rooting and rolling in mud
they are wonderful animals!
